Man Files Claim to Take Supreme Court Justice’s House Under New Eminent Domain Law
-- as reported by Citizenlink
I guess we can now see how Justice Souter likes it.
After voting in support of a Supreme Court ruling that expanded communities' power to claim private property, Justice David Souter had a claim placed against his house -- to build the "Lost Liberty Hotel."
Mr. Logan Clements, CEO of Freestar Media and a conservative activist, is attempting to take control of Souter's property in New Hampshire.
The proposed hotel would include the "Just Desserts Cafe."
"This is not a prank," Clements said. "The Towne of Weare has five people on the Board of Selectmen. If three of them vote to use the power of eminent domain to take this land from Mr. Souter, we can begin our hotel development."
